Identity and authority
We match the professional and firm name against the relevant public regulator database. We record identifiers, current status, authorised jurisdictions and the date checked. Identity mismatches stop publication. Related action: Follow the adviser credential-check workflow.
Disclosures and scope
We review publicly available disciplinary or disclosure records and ask the applicant to explain the service scope in plain language. A disclosure is neither hidden nor automatically treated as guilt; relevant facts are summarised with a link to the source record. Related action: Report a record that needs correction.
Compensation and conflicts
Applicants must describe how the person, firm and related parties can be paid. We ask for a representative fee schedule and distinguish commissions, asset-based fees, flat fees, hourly fees and lender-paid compensation.
Reverification and correction
Core licence details are scheduled for annual review and profiles show their check date. Material corrections are prioritised. A profile is paused when identity, status or scope cannot be reconfirmed.
Limits
We do not audit personal finances, guarantee competence, verify every marketing statement or predict future behaviour. Visitors must review current official records and engagement documents.
How to read a PEOPLE.you verification record
Checked means matched
What it means: A dated check means the listed identity and public identifier matched the cited record when reviewed. It does not certify advice quality or future conduct.
Disclosed means traceable
What it means: Compensation and service claims should point to a filing, proposal, fee schedule or written statement. Unsupported marketing language is not treated as evidence.
Review due means recheck
What it means: A profile stops qualifying as current after its review deadline. Visitors should still repeat the official check before sending money or sensitive documents.
